
IMPOUND PROGRAM
Vehicle Impound Program in the Event That Your Vehicle Has Been Impounded
The following is a guideline of the necessary paperwork you will need in order to claim your vehicle.
To claim your vehicle you will need the following:

Valid driver’s license and/or Government issued photo identification card

Proof of ownership – Vehicle registration, valid insurance

All fees are to be paid in Cash/Visa/MasterCard/Interac
If your vehicle was impounded under the vehicle impound program (30 days/60 days/90 days/120 days)
Person claiming vehicle on behalf of owner:

Complete the Owner’s authorization form MV2712 (PDF, 278 KB).

Send the following documents to AR.Review@gov.bc.ca:

A copy of both sides of your valid government-issued ID

The completed form

Wait for verification. This step can take up to 3 days, please submit your request ahead of time

We'll review your request and get back to you at the email address you used to send it

If your request is approved, an order of release will be sent directly to the impound lot to authorize the release of the vehicle

The person you authorize to collect the vehicle must bring:

Payment for towing and storage fees

Their valid driver’s licence
